International. Panasonic presented its new service as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator to connect products to the M2M cloud, through which the operation of projectors and displays can be monitored remotely.
The company explained how it will begin to integrate mobile connectivity into all its product lines so that all devices can access the new services offered by the M2M cloud, such as remote monitoring, data collection or analysis, to increase its efficiency and reliability.
The first product to use the M2M network will be Nubo, a pioneering video surveillance camera with a mobile 4G connection. Panasonic has also announced two M2M services that leverage the mobile virtual network.
On the one hand, it is the remote monitoring function of Panasonic projectors and displays, which allows you to control these visual devices remotely so that nothing stops the show.
Essential performance data such as on/off status, lamp life and temperature, are also transmitted to the cloud to ensure predictive maintenance and optimize product life. Heavy tasks such as changing lamps, cleaning filters or maintenance are automatically organized and can even be outsourced and delegated entirely to Panasonic.
For example, Panasonic remotely monitors Cardiff University projectors from its European service centre in South Wales to ensure an uninterrupted learning environment.
On the other hand, Panasonic Heating and Cooling solutions can also be monitored and controlled remotely via Panasonic's M2M network and, thanks to it, keep the products as long as possible in operation and obtain significant savings in terms of energy and carbon emissions. A leading European supermarket chain is currently testing this service in several establishments in Europe.
