Colombia. At the end of 2014, Osram launched in Colombia a new LED luminaire called Kreios Par, with applications for interiors and exteriors in theaters, shows and façade lighting, which has been very well received in the Colombian market.
Felipe Ángel, Regional SP Sales Manager of Osram de Colombia, told AVI Latin America that this lamp reduces the use of lights on a stage because it provides up to 107 million colors, and can be managed through DMX or manually. These characteristics have made it very useful for theaters, because it has allowed them to modernize thanks to its versatility.
"The infrastructure that a theater requires for a more or less complex play is now much smaller than before with this light. It makes life much easier for theaters, both in the assemblies and in the maintenance, as well as in the assembly of all kinds of shows," he added.
For his part, Diego Pico, from the company Qparts, distributor of Osram in Colombia, mentioned that the product has been very well received thanks to its versatility, and has already been installed in theaters in different cities of the country. "Theaters are taking advantage of a government law that through the Ministry of Culture seeks to have better theaters, helping economically to improve their facilities."
Felipe Ángel concluded that "the Kreios Par allows to reduce the consumption of light to the theaters by 80%, since it replaces a 1,000w lamp consuming only 160W, in addition to providing a much wider color palette and sharper colors".
