Latin America. Sony has just introduced two new projectors that expand its range of 4K projectors with laser light source. The new projectors are the VPL-GTZ270, designed for entertainment purposes in planetariums, theme parks, museums and shops, and the VPL-GTZ280, created for the fields of simulation, visualization and training.
Both 5000 lumens models feature native 4K SXRDTM resolution (4096 x 2160) and join Sony's VPL-GTZ1 model to create a line of versatile laser light source 4K projectors designed for a wide range of commercial and B2B applications. In addition, both work in 4K in 3D mode.
Like Sony's other laser light source projectors, the VPL-GTZ270 and VPL-GTZ280 offer up to 20,000 hours of maintenance-free use (or up to 40,000 hours when used in low-brightness mode), eliminating the costs normally associated with replacing lamps and, ultimately, reduce the total cost of ownership over its lifetime.
The constant brightness mode and periodic automatic calibration also favour a longer service life. The SXRD panel of the projectors also creates an image with intense blacks and reduces the white bands, allowing multiple projections to be merged.
Both models have sealed optics that make them resistant to dust when used in busy areas. In addition, thanks to an operating noise level of less than 35 dB, they are very quiet. The new projectors also offer flexible mounting options through the possibility of installation at a free tilt angle, either left or right, vertical or horizontal, or forward or backward.
VPL- GTZ270
The VPL-GTZ280 uses high-speed motion features and a new 120Hz high-speed 4K signal processing option to offer each eye a 60Hz 3D 4K resolution.
The new VPL- GTZ270 will be available in January 2016, and the VPL- GTZ280 in March 2016.
