See you at InfoComm

altThe annual event of the audiovisual industry will be held this year between June 8 and 14 in Orlando. Latinos continue to gain ground and are the target audience of many manufacturers.

By AVI Latin America

A 4% increase over the 2011 Show in the number of attendees and visitors that reached 34,268 from 90 countries and more than 925 exhibitors that occupied more than 148 thousand meters of exhibition, are some of the numbers that consolidated InfoComm Show in 2012 as the largest event in the AV industry worldwide. And they left a bigger challenge for this year.

Therefore, to attract the more than 35,000 attendees they hope to have at the event this year, the organizers have raised some novelties within the framework of the exhibition. Among integrators, manufacturers, distributors, installers, end users and related professionals, two sectors will be special guests: the hospitality industry and digital signage.

This year, the Show will have a pavilion dedicated exclusively to digital signage, in which attendees will be able to find, in addition to innovative products from the main manufacturers, the best presentations and practical training through case studies and strategic advice throughout the installation process.

Among the featured products and services for digital signage that will be found in the pavilion will be media players, software, content management systems and network infrastructure products.

In recent years, the hospitality industry has been nourished by audiovisual tools for its administration, as well as information and entertainment of its guests. That is why this year they will have special attention through two specialized technical pavilions.

In the digital signage pavilions and the Lighting & Staging, the hospitality industry will be able to find interactive screens for rooms and lobbies, lighting equipment for the hotel's nightclub, among other relevant technologies.

In addition, they will have specialized conferences on technology for their events, how to direct the effective content of digital signals, digital magen in the production of live events, among other topics.

Education and training
Another essential point of the show is the educational component and the certification of the members of the association. In 2012, 6,940 registrations were carried out for InfoComm University's educational programs, 15.6% more than last year. Super Tuesday, a full day of advanced instruction for AV professionals, attracted 850 applicants in 2012, a 32% growth over 2011.

For this year, InfoComm University has planned more than 300 educational sessions that will have a particular novelty, more than half of the classes in this year's program are new.

Such programs seek to address the diverse skills and interests of attendees. They include the Pre-Show with three days of "total immersion" education in technical courses. The super Tuesday that will embroider the popular future trends.

In addition, seminars and workshops that focus on AV systems, technology and networking of AV professionals with the incorporation of video streaming and management of an AV department. Through the AV Tech Tours, visitors will be able to know the best audiovisual facilities in Orlando.

Latin America present
According to the study of Strategy and Definition of the Global Audiovisual Market, published by InfoComm International, Latin America is increasingly consolidated as an indispensable market for the world AV industry due to its growth and expansion possibilities, becoming the second fastest expanding after Asia.

Brazil and Mexico are the main markets in the region. For 2015, the report says that the AV segment in Latin America will reach US$5.95 billion in 2015 with an annual growth of 15%.  It should be noted that in general the global recession has had a minimal impact on the economies of Latin America and the result is seen in that most professional AV companies in the region experienced double-digit growth every year for the last three years (2009 - 2012).

Therefore, it is no longer news that year after year the number of visitors from our region to InfoComm Show grows. In 2013, Latino attendees will have two opportunities to meet and share with their regional colleagues.

The first is during the Latin American Breakfast organized by InfoComm as part of the activities specially created for this audience. This meeting will be held on Friday, June 14 at the Orange County Convention Center.

The other meeting will take place on the night of June 13 in the traditional Latin American Festival organized by AVI LATINOAMÉRICA in partnership with InfoComm, and which brings together the public from all over our region. Both events are free but have limited spaces, so they require requesting confirmation by email to the organizers of each one. See you in Orlando!
