International. As of the first of May, Raghu Rau will assume ownership as CEO of the company SeaChange International, a position he had been holding as manager since last November.
His confirmation in the position was due to the strategy he has been developing to focus the company on its software business, delivering innovative software solutions for video service providers worldwide in cable, IPTV and mobile, while significantly reducing the total cost structure of the company.
SeaChange Chairman of the Board, Thomas Olson, said: "Raghu's leadership and excellent understanding of our business was evident from the moment he took responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the company. In a matter of a few months, overall operations and their ability to serve global markets have been markedly improved."
Raghu Rau joined the SeaChange Board of Directors in July 2010. He previously held various leadership positions at Motorola Inc. and served on the Board of Directors of Microtune. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Redes Aviat, a leader in wireless transmission systems.
For his part, Raghu Rau said that "I intend to focus on improving financial performance, operational excellence and delivery of high quality products to our customers."
