Mexico. The renowned educational center Colegio de México, installed Laser Projectors of the HS Series of Christie in its main auditorium, Sala Alfonso Reyes. The integration of the project, which has been a finalist of the AV Latino awards organized by AVI Latin America magazine, has been in charge of the ACT Group.
Specifically, Grupo ACT has installed in the Alfonso Reyes Room two units of the Christie D13WU-HS model with 1.5-2.0:1 zoom lenses. These are super silent laser projectors of 1DLP technology that offer 13,500 ISO lumens and WUXGA resolution.
César Centeno, associate consultant of the ACT Group, pointed out that different brands of projectors were evaluated for this project, but for the quality and cost-benefit ratio, this Christie model was chosen. "These are very bright equipment that offer excellent video quality and resolution, as well as having a compact size and a contained price," he said.
The laser illumination of the equipment was also an important factor when choosing them. "We were interested in them being equipped with laser technology to have a better cost-benefit ratio and return on investment," adds Centeno. In that sense, Christie's HS Series projectors offer 20,000 hours of lampless operation at low cost.
The projectors were placed on electric elevators on the ceiling, projecting on two 189-inch screens. Content is released from all types of devices, including PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones. Newtek's TriCaster multi-camera production system and an Extron video matrix are also used.
The Coordination of Computer Services of El Colegio de México mentioned that "the user experience to project multimedia content has been very satisfactory for their presentations, in addition to offering the public a projection of very high quality in image and video".
The Colegio de México is a public institution, of a university nature, dedicated to research and higher education in social sciences and humanities, and is one of the most outstanding in the Hispanic world, for which it has received numerous recognitions from its foundation in 1940 to the present, including the Prince of Asturias Award for Social Sciences.
The ACT Group, a Mexican company dedicated to providing integration in audiovisual systems for more than 15 years, was responsible for the sale and integration of the entire solution. It also had the support of Videology, Christie's partner in Mexico, in the selection of the product, adjustments and set-up.
