International. Navori Labs released, after several years, an update for its QL digital signage software. This new version 2.7 is now available in two product ranges, QL Professional and QL Express.
This product will receive its public debut at the next big fairs this year. Namely, the Integrated Systems Events (ISE) in Barcelona, from 11 to 14 May, at the Fira Barcelona Gran Via, Stand 6K350. And at infoComm in Las Vegas, June 8-10, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth N3318.
Now, QL 2.7 is a digital signage software that includes a content management interface, improved support for native files, and filtering of data sources. Likewise, it has direct integration with commercial and marketing analysis software. It stands out from this program that presents features that cross all the core software elements of the company, QL Content Manager, QL Player and QL Server.
Benefits of the upgrade
This new version offers a more responsive user interface and allows an on-premises version of the lightweight QL Express solution, which was previously only available in the cloud, making this solution more affordable for different types of budgets. In that sense, this software is designed to improve the user experience in all digital signage business verticals.
An important feature is that the interface was completely redesigned for QL Content Manager, so that it supports an expanded range of content, while making it easier for users to navigate content creation, scheduling, and other management tasks. Media 'thumbnails' now take up more screen space and include the video preview feature. It also features a wider spectrum of supported content, including uploads of native PowerPoint and PDF files. Additionally, it integrates Microsoft Power BI dashboards for business analytics and includes new tools to filter such data live, based on user-created rules.
Jeffrey Weitzman, CEO of Navori Labs, said: "Our goal was to expand the display and accessibility of the media our customers manage in the interface and attract a wider community of digital signage users. The content library is now fully modernized with native uploading of PDF and PowerPoint files. In addition, we've added a number of new buttons that visualize the content management process, speed up playlist creation, and overall make QL faster and easier to use as a communication vehicle."
Integration with Aquiaji
The new version of the QL also integrates with Aquaji, a marketing analytics software. Such a union offers commercial benefits, where it highlights the automatic personalization of digital signage content in real time according to the profile of the live audience.
Weitzman commented: "QL 2.7 introduces the formal link between the two products. In addition to receiving feeds of actual data from Aquaji to QL Player, users can now create logical statements within the UI and tell the content when it should play. By applying that logic and preloading the media, Aquaji makes decisions in the moment and directs the QL service to the appropriate media for the right person. The integrated solution effectively manages the playlist, which is a much sleeker approach than abruptly changing content on the fly manually."
So users can now extract Aquaji-related data and reports directly from the interface, which provides specific and detailed information about content playback. The analyses will include which media were played for how long and on which screens. Moreover, if the reproduction occurs in QL templates, it will even be possible to analyze in which area the ads were played, their size and other relevant details.
Added value in security and compatibility
QL 2.7 also strengthens user authentication to access the QL CMS, with new direct sign-in methods, including Microsoft single sign-on, Active Directory accounts, and SAML 2.0 integration.
Finally, since Navori Labs acquired Innes PlugNCast last year, QL Player software is immediately available for PlugNCast media players, which can be upgraded remotely and seamlessly migrate content libraries to QL. In the words of Jerome Moeri, CEO of Navori Labs, this acquisition adds more than 25,000 live terminals to digital signage networks with QL technology.
