Chile. The Sheraton Santiago Hotel and Convention Center, received in recent days the award of the 20th World Travel Awards in the category South America's Leading Conference Hotel, voted by travel agents around the world.
The Chilean hotel won the award after competing with four other candidates from the region, including Caesar Park Rio de Janeiro Ipanema and Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo, brazil; Hilton Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Los Tajibos Hotel & Convention Center, Bolivia.
In 2011, the Sheraton Santiago Hotel renovated the common areas of its facilities to fix the damage caused by the earthquake that shook Chile in 2010. This remodeling included the installation and automation of all the audiovisual aids of the Convention Center.
SAV Audiovisual Support, was the company in charge of carrying out the installation and automation of AV systems. In total, the Convention Center has 17 Epson brand projectors.
For the installation of the sound, Bose technical staff was in charge of carrying out an acoustic study that showed which were the amplifiers required for the installation according to each space. The intervention also included screens in all elevators and common areas to disseminate information about the events held at the convention center.
The Sheraton Santiago has 379 rooms with views of the pool or the Andes. It is located a few steps from famous places, such as the house of Pablo Neruda, the metropolitan park zoo, the hill of San Cristóbal, the best shops in the district, restaurants and pubs.
