Latin America. 2015 has been a good year for Icap. The company of Argentine origin continues its expansion in the region and that is why a few months ago it opened an office in Chile and is in the process of opening its office in Colombia. Martín Saúl, CEO of Icap, told AVI LATINOAMÉRICA the details of these new headquarters.
Icap's office in Chile has been open since July by Andrés Vera. In Colombia, an alliance is being formed with two companies for distribution and the operation of the office is in charge of Pedro Baleta from Argentina, but they are still defining the model because they have identified that the Colombian market is boiling, growing, but in a disorderly manner. That is why they want to develop a model that is a channel, because today they do not see clearly who is a wholesaler, an integrator, who only moves boxes and they are trying to identify it.
"Icap is currently based in Argentina, Spain, Uruguay, the United States, joined by Chile and Colombia. For now we will try to consolidate this structure and as the projects take us and we have market visibility, we will think about incorporating something else. We believe that beyond where we are located or where we are open, the idea is to give global coverage to projects that come with that concept of global project, "said Martín Saúl.
He added that in all the headquarters they will always work with the two business models, distribution and integration, and always with an attitude of collaboration and not confrontation with the market. "That is, where we are going to make a distribution is going to be a logical distribution, with a value business proposal, we are going to generate a margin and a return for the channel. And where we are going to do integration the idea is to integrate with the channel as well. We are not going to put together a super structure with a global presence, with millions of people everywhere. Our idea is to grow the business and not grow Icap."
At the beginning of the year, Icap joined the Global Presence Alliance, GPA, being the second company in Latin America to be linked to this project, which respects the market trend towards global and standardized solutions with a high level of quality.
Icap seeks to represent Latin America in order to "be at the same level as the solutions of Europe and Asia. And we're not, we're quite far away. We must continue to study and certify ourselves, have more InfoComm CTS, more people certified in Cisco networking and control, and even require a very advanced certification in project management. By achieving these certifications, we will be able to be at the same level as other companies. And that's what we're looking for," concluded Martin Saul.
