ISE. Panasonic has presented at ISE 2016 its Light ID technology, a new technology that allows you to share content easily for information, entertainment, guidance and advertising purposes, with screens with LED technology.
Panasonic Light ID links smartphones with digital signage and provides detailed information through flashing LEDs at a speed not recognizable by the human eye. This system uses a special mobile app to instantly share content between Light ID transmitters, such as LED displays and signs and smartphones.
"The demand for visual information supports both inside and outside commercial establishments continues to grow. Solutions such as Light ID, which effectively distribute advertising messages and other information, will be crucial," says Enrique Robledo, Marketing Director for Europe at Panasonic.
This system allows the transmission of light ID from a display using high-speed backlight control technology. This can be achieved through a compatible set-top box connected to the display or through built-in media players that use a USB stick.
"A single screen can provide different information to each of the smartphones you have nearby," adds Enrique Robledo. "We believe that this technology has several very interesting applications in the areas of tourism, for example, allowing information to be displayed in several languages to help visitors get around an airport, a train station or a shopping center.
"We also hope to capture a lot of interest from museums, where detailed information and voice guidance could be offered through smartphones or tablets," adds Robledo. The launch of the new display and the Light ID platform service are planned for this year.
