CityNOW Redefines Atlanta Braves Fan Experience

International. After 20 years playing at the legendary Turner Field, the major league baseball team, the Atlanta Braves, will play, next Friday, April 13, its first official game of the 2017 season in its new home: SunTrust Park, a state-of-the-art headquarters located in Cobb County, Georgia (USA). In it, your fans will have an immersive community experience that extends far beyond the stadium.

This new precinct stands directly next to The Battery, a 139,354m2 mixed-use development that includes world-class boutique shops and restaurants, 550 modern residences and over 400,000m2 of retail and office space.

To achieve their vision, the Braves turned to Panasonic to help them condition both the baseball park and The Battery with advanced audio-visual network technology, signage, security and energy management solutions.

"We have a very demanding standard of excellence and schedule, it was essential to partner with the best global companies in every field," said Mike Plant, president of operations development for the Braves. "When we evaluated Panasonic we saw that they are a multidimensional company with an incredible variety of emerging technologies."

This project seeks to generate an ideal destination for families, businesses, buyers and people in search of entertainment in general, attracting audiences from all over the southeast region of the United States. An unforgettable destination with 365 days a year of games, work and housing like no other in that country.

Panasonic designed and installed a gigantic video display, a strap that wraps around the outer surface of the second floor, as well as a major digital signage network spread throughout the park and The Battery.

Panasonic also provided expandable and integrated security management systems with surveillance cameras that help ensure the park is one of the safest entertainment venues in the U.S.

To further increase the sensory experience of fans, Panasonic offered an integrated sound solution. The final component is an ambitious sustainable solar energy plan for the entire smart stadium district.

The Braves were drawn to Panasonic's expertise as an AV solutions provider at some of the world's most iconic sports venues, such as Churchill Downs Racetrack, where the Kentucky Derby takes place, or the Indy Motor Speedway in Indianapolis; as well as comprehensive technology developments for "smart cities" in Fujisawa and Tsunashima, Japan and at PENA Station in Denver.

A key factor in Panasonic's CityNOW technology solutions are so-called Responsive Infrastructures (TM) that allow the residents involved to connect in real time with information and services to lead safer, healthier, more convenient and sustainable lives.

The construction of this type of venue replaces the idea of having a stadium away from the community, now fans will have a closer relationship with the Braves and a huge economic boost will be generated for the area and the team.

While Braves fans seek a new legacy of success and excitement at SunTrust Park, Panasonic builds a leading technology channel in Smart City, Smart Sports and Entertainment Districts, collaborating with venue owners, sports teams and municipalities on projects that in addition to providing new profit opportunities for businesses, improve people's quality of life.
