Ricoh Huddle Room, concept for workspaces

Mexico. Currently, the new productivity model will pivot around phenomena such as remote access, teleworking, the cloud, telepresence and the use of personal devices at work, which define the lifestyle of digital natives. According to IDC, the total world population that will work remotely during this year will reach the figure of 1.3 billion and in Mexico the number of remote employees is already 2.5 million.

However, in the new world of work, it takes more than a smartphone to connect workers in an efficient and secure way. In this context, Ricoh Mexicana, a global technology company specializing in office printing equipment, production printing solutions, IT services and document solution systems, presents the concept of The Huddle Room with the aim of empowering the mobile workforce with state-of-the-art equipment and technologies specifically designed for maximum collaboration, creativity and for the communication needs between workers, customers, business partners, suppliers...

The Huddle Room  includes Ricoh's Visual Communication products and services: Video Conferencing Systems, Interactive Whiteboards and Enterprise Video Projectors so teams can communicate and collaborate locally, remotely and mobile using tablets, smartphones and laptops.

How does it work?

It is the integration of different technologies in a small space for 3 to 6 people and is designed to promote collaboration, effective communication and creativity among employees. One of the biggest premises of Ricoh's Huddle Room is to make the technology work for the user; making it easy to use and always available.

On the other hand, the ultimate goal is to change the style and work environment by eliminating fixed locations and conference rooms that require prior appointments, and replaces it with small work sites and mobile devices that offer the possibility of meeting quickly through cloud and video conferencing systems.

Some of the benefits of having a Huddle Room is the integration and teamwork without requiring scheduling systems to separate the room because it is used when it is available so it is common for a company to have several Huddle Room style rooms. At the same time, it allows employees to focus and take advantage of technology to be more efficient and also does not require an expensive implementation and is easy to use. Some other advantages include:

They are much less expensive than "traditional" meeting rooms

More reliability as there are fewer points of failure and fewer vulnerabilities in IT security.

It's a unique, standard, location-agnostic user experience.

Requires less time and effort in custom programming (nor the associated costs)

It is installed in hours, not days or weeks.

Cost savings in transfers of employees or customers.
