Audio-Technica launched infrared conference system

Latin America. Audio-Technica expanded the company's conference/discussion solutions with the introduction of the ATUC-IR hybrid infrared system. Thanks to plug-and-play functionality, the new conferencing system offers reliable, clear and intelligible communication, which significantly improves the efficiency of meetings. The hybrid design allows hundreds of infrared and wired conference (discussion) units to be combined into a single system.

The ATUC-IR system provides uncompressed 24-bit/48 kHz digital audio, which offers natural voice reproduction, along with a 12-band feedback suppressor that allows for higher volume levels. Infrared transmission does not need frequency coordination and keeps signals safe, with no information leakage.

A single system can be expanded to support a total of 200 ATUC-IRDU infrared conference (debate) units along with 100 ATUC-50 wired ATUC-50 conference/integration/interpretation (DU/IU/INT) units from a single ATUC-IRCU control unit. In addition, up to two ATUC-50CU wired control units can be connected to the new ATUC-IR hybrid infrared system to integrate 100 additional DU/IU/INT units in each, for a total of 500 DU/IU/INT units.

The ATUC-IRCU 19" rackmount control unit can operate locally, via the remote web interface (no software required) or third-party IP control systems. It offers three selectable operating modes (free, request to speak and fully remote), plus various moderation settings. You can record WAV and MP3 files to a USB connected mass storage device. Connections include two micro/line inputs, two AUX inputs, and two interpretation return inputs. The ATUC-IRCUDAN version includes all the functions of the ATUC-IRCU unit plus a Dante® output with redundancy.

The ATUC-IRDU conference unit can be used with a selection of flexo condenser microphones, two hypercardioid and one linear cardioid, each with different lengths. Designed for two users, the unit features two talk/ask buttons, indicator lights, and headphone jacks with volume control, giving both users equal access to the microphone.

Options include the ATUC-M43H flexo type hypercardioid condenser microphone (446 mm long); flexo type hypercardioid condenser microphone ATUC-M58H (596 mm long); and linear cardioid condenser microphone type flexo ATUC-M32L (320 mm long).

The ceiling-mountED ATUC-IRA infrared transmitter/receiver unit is designed for the reception and transmission of irdu unit signals (maximum range 6 m). The unit has a white finish and measures 130 mm (5.1") Width x 35 mm (1.4") Depth x 130 mm (5.1") Height. Includes all necessary mounting equipment.

Additional components of the new ATUC-IR hybrid infrared conferencing system include the ATUC-IRD infrared distributor, a mountable BNC 2 to 1 cable distributor, and a 10-slot charger (ATCS-B60), which recharges the batteries used by ATUC-IRDU units.
